The Beginning.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step - Lao-tzu, Chinese philosopher (604 BC - 531 BC).

So this is the start of my Malawi blog. Over the next year I will be keeping you up-to-date with my journey through the great medium of Blogger!

Let's go through the basics of my trip...

I depart on 2nd January 2012 (68 days time). I am going to be a volunteer teacher in Malawi, as yet I am not sure what age group, what subjects or even where in Malawi. All of this has been booked through a great Gap Year company - Lattitude Global Volunteering. I have booked my flight home on 11th July 2012 (but I am trying not to think about returning quite yet!)

I would like to say a big thankyou to everyone who has helped me get this far. I have done a few fundraising events and the response has been fantastic.

Also I would like to thankyou for reading this. I hope you enjoy my blog, I will try and update it as much as possible but internet connection isn't great over there so it will be whenever I find an internet cafe.
